Meet Our Founder
Miss Dee Forbes is a master social studies teacher, educational consultant and doctoral student who is passionate about creating rich learning experiences around Black History education and developing racial literacy in the classroom!
She has taught various social studies courses including U.S History, African American History, AP United States History, Economics & Personal Finance, Civics & Economics, and she serves as an exam reader for AP African American Studies.
During the early years of her career as a teacher in training, Miss Forbes saw the need for more Black stories that humanized Black peoples and for more engaging, rich, Black History curriculum for students and educators. In college as a student teacher, she began designing her own resources and curriculum to engage students. Those planted seeds in college would sprout into Social Social Studies Scholar LLC later in Miss Forbes career.
As a solo entreprenuer, Dee has facilitated Black History and social studies learning experiences for organizations like NCSS, NEA, EverFi, Quizlet, University at Buffalo, Gibbs Smith Education and more.



Miss Forbes currently resides in Georgia with her two sons and enjoys creating curriculum, shopping at TJ Maxx and frequenting Starbucks!
